7 S Project: the “contagious” improvement path that has taken hold of the company
From tooling to moulding, Unicka continues on its path of improvement by consulting with Fòrema.
It can be said that the process that will involve the entire company, starting from Tooling, in a perspective of continuous improvement from an organisational, safety and sustainability point of view to respond to market requirements and the values of a reliable and cutting-edge manufacture, has been successfully started.
We are talking about the 7S Project, which Unicka has undertaken in collaboration with Fòrema, the consulting and training company of Confindustria Veneto Est that has guided the Tooling department managers and their operators in a reorganisation process of this work area, according to the 5 principles of Lean management, with the integration of two other factors at the top of our value scale, Safety and Sustainability.
The circular diagram reproduced herein, and which now stands out in every corner of the Tooling department, clearly illustrates the seven-step path that led this department to review and update the working methodology to achieve and maintain the standards that the market expects from a company within our sector and with our complexity.
Now, the baton has been passed to the Moulding department and, subsequently, the project will involve the other production departments to later reach the offices, all the way up to Management. The entire company has been participating in this path of growth and adaptation to the production organisational and quality requirements, but also to the values that are the basis of our development plan in line with a culture of sustainability and safety.
The training course has therefore achieved its objectives, leading to very concrete results for the daily activities of the department: from the organisation and cleanliness of workplaces, to safety in handling of materials, and greater comfort in the workstations.
As explained by the area managers, a further positive result has emerged, which has a particular value for the company and its operators. The project has in fact awakened that team spirit that has allowed participants to jointly conquer such a difficult challenge as change, thus achieving a significant improvement in the environment and working methods.
